Menopause is not a problem, it doesn’t have to be fixed. It is a process that needs support.
Menopause is called the Second Spring in Chinese Medicine.
Because it is another cycle of blossoming for women , a renewal of wisdom. A time to embody and own your feminine power.
There are sometimes disconcerting symptomology that accompany the perimenopause and menopausal cycles, they need support from herbs, acupuncture, lifestyle adjustments, and emotional/psychological/spiritual counseling.
But nothing is wrong with this process.
We need to reframe how we think about biological functioning for women. Once, we label menopause as bad or wrong we have to rush to fix it. Instead of embracing the process and taking time to address imbalances and let change happen.
If we think of this process as un-natural then we are saying that being a woman and everything that happens in her lifecycle is also wrong.
This erroneous thinking is how we as culture can justify the oppression of women, the lack of proper healthcare for women, the gross and unjust experimentation that has occurred.
If we could look at it differently we can change our practices, de-stigmatize the way that we view female health.
We need to grieve and to be angry, to feel, to talk to other people about the changes that are happening in our bodies. We also need to listen and offer support, not shame.
We are going backward in this political climate and it is time to educate ourselves, to fight, to not be docile, and to take care of ourselves and our sisters and our daughters.

“Menopause is an invitation to confront dis-integration and death while there is still time to live. It is true initiation, a doorway through death to a new phase of life. Fear of natural menopause, fear of the Crone, translates into dread of death. Through bodily experiences of Yang femininity, in both menopause and menstruation, women and men who relate sensitivity to them, have opportunities to encounter the dark death side of the Divine.” Genia Pauli Hadden
