a favorite bumper sticker.
I was just telling a friend, I am not an exceptional writer, but I am a singular thinker. The writing is just the vehicle to get my notions accessible. I challenged myself over the years to not get invested in the thinking, to not let my ego be attached to the words on the paper or how people interpret the information.
I was talking to an artist the other night and asking her specifically how she handles the response to her work. This was because there were some people at her show that evening, saying that her work “wasn’t really art” ( straight from the Witch of the Waste’s mouth). The artist herself yelled “making work is for the artist and not for the viewer or the critic. You put your work out for yourself and not for anyone else.” The luxury of making something and putting it out there for other human’s to respond.
It is a trust situation, you believe in your work, put it out there and hope something happens.
It may take years for the whole process to come together.
Anything good is worth waiting.
I was wondering if you could make a living off thinking but the only people I know who could manage that were spiritual gurus and that never goes well. Because human nature is a powerful force and the love of money, sex and power is all consuming.
I am guessing it is best to have some kind of job that really grounds you, so it tethers the heady work. Single mothers, immigrants, queers, black and browns, neurodivergent, would make good voices, anyone doing the real work of living here on this plane.
New ideas are going to come from new thinkers, young people that have things to do and things to say. It is time to retire the old thinkers, ones cannot make the jump.
Turn your attention to the groups of people that are real and speaking up for the good of the American people, not the ones that are against human rights.
It is happening, changing right before our eyes. The force is gaining momentum, unity and the sovereignty of American humans is coming together. I wish we did not have to fight for it, I wish we could just be it and turn away from the people that are hanging on with a mighty grip. I can’t see how that would work right now. They are still using terror to control us, ugh. If only we could transcend that fear because we know better. If lots of people work together, then the tide can change. I think what we have going for us right now is that we know these toxic trends and we are quicker to call them out and resist.
