2026

Born in 1976.

Gen X. a generation of crossroads.

“Time alchemizes everything” Yumi Sakugawa

The inception of this project was to elevate myself (definition of elevate: to lift the spirit, to move something to a higher place). To make spiritual life a daily practice, to ascend the mundane in a way, over the year it took on many incarnations, and I made an effort to explain the whole experience with different perspectives. I did a project each week to develop myself throughout the year 50.

I have been obsessed with the notion of changing things since I was a kid, and as a teen I actively searched for answers; I am a true-blue seeker. Only as I have aged have I found that it was the torment of life that actively purged me of the false notion. The energy I was most resistant to was where the action was at: the alchemical lab of change. Now, a couple of months away from the close of this project, I would say the purpose was to let the joy inhabit my body again, to smile with realness, to feel the satisfaction I have always been craving. To be me. To sit shamelessly, abashedly, within my boundaries,

When I was in my early 20s, I had a dream about swimming with a blue whale in the vast green ocean and then riding a bus to the last stop, Satisfaction. I told T about this dream that very morning after it came to me. It is the path of the heart, a true course, mapped at the spark of inception, and has the power to make you or break you while you traverse the solid ground. Insert a prayer (here ..) that we, the collective, can embody the work of the years and make it be, 2027!. I want to parlay the effort and the discovery into something big, to be recognizable. This past year was a pilgrimage to the self.

I have been plagued by the call to be seen; for a moment, my eyes are clear, and I trust what is transpiring. I finally have the capacity and presence to move forward and grow.

Project #48:
Sunrise hike up Overlook Mountain. Full moon to my left the whole ascent, sun rising on the right 3/4th the way up the trail. Camped out on the ledge on the east side of the Mountain and watched the sun crest over the skyline. It was one of the most spectacular things that I have seen, and I felt as if I were within a magical orbit. Miracles do happen,” I do believe, I do”. Let the sun soak my face and made prayers, wrote on the rock at my feet. October 26, 2026.
